We are very excited to be a partner in the newly started project “IoT and Artificial Intelligence in order to boost competitiveness in the Swedish horticultural sector”. The project involves Kiviks Musteri and Flyinge Vingård, prominent producers of apples and wine, respectively, and aims to trial an Internet of Things (IoT) application, including AI applications.
The Swedish Board of Agriculture is providing 4 million SEK in funding for 2,5 years in the context of European EIP Agri, which supports the introduction of innovation in agriculture. The EU initiative brings together farmers, advisors, researchers and businesses, finding solutions and developing opportunity with new approaches.
Our project is about a large number of sensors in the orchards and vineyards in Skåne will collect data on parameters critical to the growth and maturity of fruit. Artificial Intelligence will support analysis and prescribe measures ranging from irrigation to fertilising. Expert knowledge is provided by SLU – the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and RISE, which are partners in the project.
The role of Future Place Leadership is to assess the market for the IoT/AI solution and enable the successful development of business and businesses, based on this new technology.
