Places, talents and economic development workshop for NPBC22

13-04-2022

The human capital agenda is increasingly essential to economic development and regional growth with access to talent as a key competitive advantage for places. Consequently, the competition for the best and the brightest is no longer only employer-led. Places across the world have entered the race in full force to position themselves as career destinations for global talent. Now they also need to adapt to a post pandemic world, changes in the industry related to remote work and talent preferences that shifted.

From war on talent to talent collaboration?

As a founder of European Talent Mobility Forum, Future Place Leadership is dedicated to share best practices and develop state of the art solutions to places across the world. Yes, we are aware that on paper, places appear to be competitors. However, our experience shows that in reality, places share so many challenges locally that a cross regional/border partnership does provide value. With entities engaged from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain and the UK, we are moving from war on talent to knowledge sharing and talent collaboration.

Join us for a workshop, where we will do a deep dive into:

  • The business case – How does talent attraction and retention fit into regional economic development?
  • Best practice from around the world on how to attract and retain international talent
  • From branding to business – How to develop the right funnel from generic awareness to niche value proposition and actual leads?
  • Towards a data and tech driven approach to address cross-border skills gaps
  • Uncover remote work, Gen Z, digital nomads and other industry trends
  • How can we collaborate across regions and borders?

The desired output is to identify concrete collaboration activities across regions and borders that we can further develop and pilot in the fall of 2022.
