How do we build cities?

We helped the Nordic Council of Ministers to explain this to the world, as a part of their Branding the Nordic Region project.

In the Nordics, more cities are being designed with data and by involving the community, bringing about cities that are climate resilient, that are designed with and for people, that are safe and where eight and 80 year olds can actively engage with the urban environment and with other people in it.

There is a need to rethink how we plan, build and manage cities. The 21st century is the century of cities, of urbanisation. It is also the age of climate crisis. A data driven and an evidence-based approach is needed to measure and make economically and socially sound decisions that last for generations.

If this works in the cold and dark North, why should it not work elsewhere?
