Marcus – CEO & Founder

Marcus Andersson is Founder and CEO of Future Place Leadership, and specialises in talent attraction for places, investment promotion, place development and regional development. He has advised countries and cities such as Finland, Denmark, Basque Country, Estonia, Ireland, Sweden, Scotland, Berlin, Barcelona, Stockholm and Oslo on talent attraction, investment promotion and place development.

His work has been featured in global media such as BBC Global News, Forbes, Bloomberg, and BBC Worklife. He has co-authored several books, such as “Innovating Talent Attraction – a Practitioner’s guide for Cities, Regions and Countries” and “Nation Branding in Europe”.

Marcus holds an MA in Political Science and MSc. in Marketing, Business and Economics. He is a trained intelligence analyst and has worked in management and communications positions for the Swedish Migration Agency, Swedish Ministry of Enterprise, Swedish Security Service, Baltic Development Forum and the European Commission, in policy areas such as security policy, migration, sustainability and innovation. Apart from his day-job at Future Place Leadership, he’s also an officer in the Swedish Army reserve forces.
