Bizkaia Talent is part of European Talent Mobility Forum
Basque Country at the Bay of Biscay is warm and friendly place with excellent food. Their gastrodiplomacy has convinced us of that. But that came later.
Bilbao is working very actively with talent attraction and retention. We have had the pleasure of training the management of their talent attraction organisation, bizkaia:talent, through our flagship training programme, ‘Talent Attraction Management for European Cities, Regions and Countries’, in 2016 and our Cluster Branding Masterclass in Brussels in 2017.
We have also worked with bizkaia:talent and others in the region organising the pre-launch for the European Cities Talent Competitiveness Index (part of INSEAD’s Global Talent Competitiveness Index published annually at the World Economic Forum in Davos). It is was the first time a talent list of cities.
Finally, we have organised a study visit for a delegation from the Basque Territory of Biscay and the city of Bilbao in Helsinki and Stockholm to learn more about the start-up and entrepreneurial ecosystem of the two Nordic capitals.
The fact that the Nordics in the North and the Basque Country in the South-East are keen on working together to innovate talent attraction and entrepreneurial ecosystem is a testimonial to the fact that international talent attraction and mobility is an issue that truly concerns all of Europe.
